There are a lot of people who spend hours every Sunday leafing through multiple papers and searching out the coupons available in them. They pay for all of these newspapers and feel obligated to use all of these coupons. Couponing can be a hoarders' favorite hobby because as the common excuse goes "I had to buy it- it was on sale!"

By buying coupons on Ebay this hoarding of random items is limited and the useless coupons don't pile up begging the shopper to use them. It is a much better system.

Many blogs and guides will tell you that couponing needs to be done in tandem with sale-watching. A coupon is great but a coupon combined with a sale is the only way to really save that crazy amount of money. But you can't control when the supermarket is going to have a sale! And neither can you control which coupons will come in your paper each week. So you end up hoarding them, waiting for a sale.

But not anymore. With the 2 or 3-day shipping offered by most Ebay sellers of coupons, you can check out the weekly ads and decide your coupon buys for the week based on that. No more useless coupons!

Yes. They are. And some people view that as a downside, but most really useful coupons are "manufacturer's" coupons. Perishables don't often have good coupon deals, but canned and frozen and non-perishables do. In my opinion, it's better to have 10 jars of tomato sauce that you will definitely use, rather than 2 kinds of cat food, 3 boxes of crackers, 4 different soaps, and a bottle of truffle oil that was $25 at 50% off.

The beauty of buying coupons on eBay is that you don't get anything you don't need. You are focused. You look at sales, then search for coupons instead of the other way around. But it doesn't have to be your entire plan. It complements a normal couponing regime beautifully. For beginners, a single Sunday insert or online resource may be all they are using. This means they are not saving the most money possible, but the dive into extreme couponing may not be ideal for them either. Using eBay lets couponers get the benefits of extreme couponing with only a slight cost (you can see above that $10 of savings sells for $1-$2 on eBay). It is worth it to level up your savings without increasing the time spent working for them.
